Contributing by Bank Transfer

Most Banks provide a bank transfer or "Pay-Anyone" facility, where a transfer from an "every day" account can be scheduled. Features of using this approach are:

  • You are in control of the mechanism, i.e. you can change it as you need at any time.
  • There's no bank fee paid charged to you or the parish.
  • You can set this up yourself online.

The key information you need to set up a Bank Transfer is common to all banks and is as follows:

  1. Setting up a pledge for Stewardship - supports the mission of our Parish and the work of the church across Melbourne. We need this to pay for things like pastoral programs such as Winter Shelter and sacramental programs, insurance, utilities, loans and other Church and Parish operating expenses, as well as the salaries of our staff.

    • Reference: 18 characters in the form STEW<SURNAME><I> as described below:
      • STEW means a giving intention of Stewardship
      • Your surname (up to 13 characters)
      • The initial of your first name
      • e.g. STEWJAMIESONM – means contribution to Stewardship by M. JAMIESON

  2. Setting up a pledge for Presbytery - for the stipend and food expenses of our parish priest.

    • Reference: 18 characters in the form PRES<SURNAME><I> as described below:
      • PRES means a giving intention of Presbytery
      • Your surname (up to 13 characters)

      • e.g. STEWJAMIESONM – means contribution to Stewardship by M. JAMIESON

Funds drawn from your account will show on your statement as something like "HOLYSPIRIT NORTH RINGWOOD" (depending on your bank).
